As much as I LOVE being an author, the one thing that was missing was a chance to connect with young up and coming writers. I created this summer camp with my younger self in mind. What were the lessons I would have found helpful? What were the anchor texts I would have loved to read and study? What encouragement did I need? I poured my years as a seventh grade language arts teacher, creative writing major, and real-life author experiences into a camp to help encourage the next generation of young creatives.
